Once again, Waves has announced that it will be giving away a free plugin to kick off 2026 – Curves Resolve.

The thing both plugins have in common is that they were Black Friday freebies, which is something we’re used to from Waves.

Now, in a slight departure from the typical routine, Waves is offering us a January freebie to kick off 2026.

I’m not sure if this is the start of a new trend for Waves, or just a one-off; either way, the announcement of Curves Resolve is a nice little surprise for the new year.

Like previous Waves freebies, the time between the initial announcement and the release of Curves Resolve is defined by secrecy and speculation.

So, here’s the little we know so far.

The free plugin is called Curves Resolve, and it will drop on January 19, 2026. From January 19, the plugin will be free for just 48 hours, so you’ll have to act fast.

To qualify for the freebie, you’ll have to sign up for the promotion with your email address.

Once signed up, you’ll be notified by email when the plugin is available for download.

I’m not sure if there is a license cap, like there was with IDX (10,000 licenses), so you’ll either get an email with instructions to download or claim a license.

Now for the speculation: the plugin name and image suggest a tool that tackles and resolves frequency clashes.

Previous freebies are one-knob plugins (or very close to it), so I’d expect something straightforward from Curves Resolve.

Waves released Curves AQ in early 2025 as the world’s first autonomous EQ.

I suspect that Curves Resolve could give a small taste of the premium AI-assisted plugin.

In that case, as an intelligent plugin with minimal controls (like IDX), it could be a worthwhile timesaver for speedy professional results.

Curves AQ has a regular price of $129 (currently on sale for $49.99 as of January 9, 2026), so I think $29.99 would be a fair guess for Curves Resolve after the promotion ends.

We’ll find out soon enough; whatever the case, you can’t beat free, so make sure you get it during that two-day window.
